Singer Connie Francis hospitalized, misses N.Y. performance.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Singer Connie Francis, who recorded '50s and '60s pop hits including "Who's Sorry Now?" and "Lipstick on Your Collar," remains in a Long Island hospital after falling ill earlier this week.

Her agent, Mike Church, says Francis, a Newark native, had been scheduled to perform Wednesday night with Neil Sedaka at The Capital One Bank Theatre at Westbury. Instead, she was taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Center with dangerously high blood pressure.

The singer, who is 69, had been expected to leave the coronary care unit on Friday. Church says "she's doing well," but doctors decided she should remain there for at least another day for observation.

It's a shame that she's not in the R&R Hall of Fame.

I'll have to keep her in my thoughts and prayers.
