THE VENETIAN AFFAIR!THIS FRANK McCARTHY POSTER KNOCKED MY SOCKS OFF.
I ORIGINALLY POSTED IT WAS FROM ONE OF THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. FILMS MADE FROM DOUBLE EPISODES AND EXTRA FOTTAGE, BUT C.O.B.R.A.S. AGENT CHRIS MILLS FROM SPY-FI EXPLAINES IT WAS ONLY MADE TO LOOK THAT WAY. THE VENETIAN AFFAIR IS "MORE OF A HITCHCOCKIAN COMIC THRILLER WITH A GOOD CAST."
THANKS TO MY FELLOW C.O.B.R.A.S. AT SPY VIBE FOR THE FLASHBACK!

ACtually, THE VENETIAN AFFAIR is *not* an U.N.C.L.E.movie, although the title was almost certainly chosen to make audiences believe it was.
It's more of a Hitchcockian comic thriller with a good cast. I saw it on TNT years ago...
Bish if you want some UNCLE Action, get yourself over to Reel Cool
This movie was based on an espionage novel by Helen MacInnes that actually was called THE VENETIAN AFFAIR that came out before the U.N.C.L.E. series, although the movie didn't use much more than the title and setting from the book.
Thanks Chris and James. I do remember this movie now. I read the Helen MacInnes novel many, many years ago. Will have to dig it out for a forgotten books post!
Thanks also to Crispy for his link to THE U.N.C.L.E. soundtrack post on his blog.
