PULP NOW: BLACK JACK JUSTICE!

PULP NOW: BLACK JACK JUSTICE!

Fans of Decoder Ring Theatre’s long-running full-cast audio series Black Jack Justice will delight in the very first meeting between Jack Justice and Trixie Dixon, girl detective. New readers will appreciate the fast tempo, the noir banter and the classic hard-boiled feel of Black Jack Justice!

"...I did not move. I am not skittish by nature, but I know the sound of a hammer being cocked when I hear it. This one was a large calibre automatic, which meant it wasn’t a cop. I turned my head as slowly and non-threateningly as I could. It was my friend with the square jaw, and his friend the .45. “Hi,” he said.

It was a simple enough case. Sex, betrayal, sex, money, sex, murder and sex. But when a pair of His and Hers private detectives get involved, the sparks start to fly and the blood begins to spill in earnest. With every shot that’s fired, the hole digs a little deeper, and the list of people our sparring
shamuses can trust gets shorter and shorter..."

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Gregg Taylor's love of the classic adventure stories of the golden age of radio, film noir and pulp fiction are the driving passions behind his work for both prose and radio drama. The audio drama series Black Jack Justice appears as a part of the Decoder Ring Theatre podcast, and has also been heard on independant radio stations around North America. While the central characters and situations carry over from the radio series to this novel, and the story can been seen as a part of the same continuity, this story is also a perfect starting point for readers new to the series.

VINTAGE COVERS: SCORPION REEF!

THE TROUBLE WITH BLONDES!

PULP NOW: THE GREAT UNDEAD WAR!

PULP NOW: THE GREAT UNDEAD WAR!

THE WORD FROM AUTHOR JOSEPH NASSISE ON HIS FANTASTIC NEW SERIES WITH ONE OF THE BEST PULP COVERS EVER . . .

On May 1st HarperCollins will be launching my new WWI alternate history series, The Great Undead War, with the publication of BY THE BLOOD OF HEROES in trade paperback and ebook editions.

To celebrate, I've partnered with Shindig, a very cool company out of New York City, who will be hosting the Great Undead War Virtual Launch Party on May 1st at 6 pm EDT. This FREE, large-scale video chat gathering will feature me doing a live reading from my new book, followed by a Q&A session with the audience. If you've never attended an event like this before, now you can do so without leaving the comfort of your own living room!

Shindig's technology allows me to bring audience members up "on stage" (so to speak) to interact with while at the same time allowing groups of audience members to do the same between themselves. What's even better is that you don't need any special equipment to participate - just a computer with speakers to hear the event, or a webcam if you want to interact visually with others in the audience.

I'd love to have you join me!

What: The Great Undead War Virtual Launch Party
When: May 1st 6pm EDT
Where: Online

Attendees will also receive a free ebook edition of THE SHARP END, a prequel story introducing the characters and setting for the series, as a special thanks for sharing the launch with me.

BY THE BLOOD OF HEROES

Train them . . . Arm them . . . Then turn them loose on the zombies!

At the tail end of 1917, the Germans introduced a new type of gas to the battlefield, T-Leiche, or "corpse gas," and changed the face of the war by resurrecting the bodies of the dead, giving the enemy an almost unlimited source of fresh troops.

When the American ace Major Jack Freeman—poster boy for the war against the Kaiser's undead army of shamblers—is downed over enemy lines and taken captive, veteran Captain Michael "Madman" Burke is the only man brave and foolish enough to accept the mission to recover Freeman. Burke assembles a team of disparate members, from his right-hand man, Sergeant Moore, to big-game-hunter-turned-soldier Clayton Manning, who funds the mission for an opportunity to confront this most dangerous zombie game, to professor Dan Richards, one of Tesla's top men and the resident authority on all things supernatural. With the help of a highly advanced British dirigible war machine to infiltrate enemy territory, the team faces incredible danger as it struggles to reach the prison camp and strike at the heart of the enemy.

But they are pitted against the most deadly enemy of all: Manfred von Richthofen, the Red Baron. Having risen from the dead with his abilities enhanced but his mind on the brink of madness, Richthofen has plans for victory that give no quarter to soldiers or civilians.

BY THE BLOOD OF HEROES is available now for a special pre-order discount price - just $10.98 in paperback and $9.99 in ebook - at both Amazon.com and B&N.com
